The journey so far

Erthlite is the latest chapter in a lifelong musical journey that began at the age of six with classical piano lessons. Growing up in Aotearoa New Zealand, they performed regularly in piano recitals, sang in musical theatre productions, and developed a deep love for composition, performance, and storytelling through sound.

After years performing in cover bands throughout New Zealand, Erthlite became the keyboardist and vocalist for Waikato reggae outfit Boil Up, appearing on the band's debut recordings and gaining valuable experience in professional recording studios and live performance. Following the band's disbandment, they established Spiralyrics, a charitable trust dedicated to supporting female songwriters through annual recording projects and live showcase concerts.

After spending two years overseas, Erthlite settled in Raglan and joined the acclaimed roots-reggae band Cornerstone Roots as keyboardist and vocalist. During this period they toured internationally, recorded professionally, and contributed to the band's early releases. A few years later they joined Lost Tribe Aotearoa, recording and performing with the group as they established themselves within New Zealand's thriving roots and reggae scene. In 2019, Lost Tribe Aotearoa was nominated for Best Roots Artist at the New Zealand Music Awards, narrowly missing out to Troy Kingi.

Alongside an extensive performing career, Erthlite has continually refined their skills as a producer, composer, and audio engineer, working across Pro Tools, Reason, and now Ableton Live. They graduated with Honours in Music, specialising in Sonic Arts, Composition, and Film & Television Music, and were awarded the prestigious Lilburn Prize for the electroacoustic composition Innocent.

Passionate about nurturing the next generation of musicians, Erthlite has also been working as a secondary school music educator, encouraging rangatahi to create, perform, and find their own musical voice.

Today, Erthlite draws upon decades of experience across electronic music, ambient soundscapes, dub, reggae, minimalism, piano, and cinematic composition. With a growing catalogue of original music spanning multiple genres, Erthlite is now focused on sharing the work that has been years in the making—releasing singles, curated albums, and immersive live performances that reflect a lifetime dedicated to music.

The journey continues, and the music is simply too good not to share.
